You’re never too young to make an impact. That’s what 11-year old Kheris Rogers is showing the world with her brand new clothing line, Flexin’ In My Complexion. She presented her clothing line at the Museum of the City of New York and has made history as the youngest fashion designer ever. The brand centers on celebrating your complexion no matter what shade you are because it is all beautiful.
So, how did someone so young come up with an idea so great? It all started when she was in first grade. There were only four other Black kids in her class and according to Rogers, the other kids didn’t really want to play with her. She was then moved to another more diverse school where she still got teased by people in her own race for her dark complexion. All of that is what inspired her to create and push her brand, Flexin’ In My Complexion.
She took to Twitter to celebrate her success…“I just made history as #NYFW youngest fashion designer ever!” she wrote. “I am only 11 years old and made it while encouraging people to love their skin.”
She plans to launch her fall/winter collection soon where she will build a community of people who all love themselves just the way they are. Be on the look out for the line!
