I am somewhat of a nail polish hoarder. So when a new one comes across my desk, it feels like Christmas morning. My most recent obsessions are these polishes from Smith & Cult, a new line started by Dineh Mohajer who helped launch every ’90s teen’s favorite polish brand, Hard Candy.

Product: Smith & Cult Nailed Lacquer

Price: $18

We Think:

How It Looks, How It Feels: How beautiful are these bottles? This is the type of packaging to proudly display on your vanity. The bottles are very heavy and have a dented-looking chrome top, making them not only feel more luxe, but also unrefined and a little bit badass. (The actual lacquer is 5-free, highly pigmented, and come in 30 colors, plus a base coat and a top coat.)

Results: The color payoff is perfect — everything you’d demand from a pricier polish — and the shades come out very true to what they look like in the bottle. And boy, is it long-lasting. I went on a backpacking trip a few days after I got a mani with the Smith & Cult polishes, and the chipping was so minimal that I still had at least four people compliment my nails post-backpacking. This was after I was literally digging my fingers into rocks for two days. The color definitely took a hit, but the fading and chipping was nowhere near what I expected it would be. I can’t wait to see how long I can make the colors last in my normal day-to-day life, where the extent of my “manual labor” is a whole lot of typing.

I recieved this Smith & Cult Nailed Lacquer as a sample and would definitely purchase it again in the future (there are 30 colors total, after all!).
