Following Bruce Jenner’s remarks in an interview that aired on ABC on Friday night that he wishes to “be able to have my nail polish on long enough that it actually chips off,” Australian fans have started painting their nails and posting them with #PaintYourNailsForBruce.
Sydney radio station KIIS 1065 started the movement, Buzzfeed reports, in response to Jenner’s recent ABC interview with Diane Sawyer where he came out as a transgender woman. (Editor’s Note: As of publication, Jenner is still using male pronouns, so we have used “he” in this post.) Jenner, age 65, explained in the interview that he confined dressing in feminine appearances to his private life, not in public, and therefore would remove his makeup and nail polish before anyone outside select family or close friends would see it.
KIIS 1065 even held a nail painting party, encouraging followers on Twitter to come get their nails painted for #PaintYourNailsForBruce.
The Olympic gold medalist and “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” dad is reportedly filming an eight-part E! docuseries as he transitions from male to female, set to air later this summer. We love seeing his fans support him, and hope the positivity only continues throughout his journey.
