This New Hands-Free Couples Vibrator Aims to Close the “˜Pleasure Gap’
Meet Eva, a new hands-free vibrator that allows women to pleasure themselves with extra hands to go around.According to their IndieGogo campaign, CEOs Alexandra Fine and Janet Lieberman founded their sex toy company Dame Products to address what they call the “pleasure gap” – the chasm between great sex for men and “wait, we’re done here?” for their female partners. The harsh reality is that studies have shown men orgasm more than twice as often as women, and according to Dame, women are four times as likely to describe recent sex as unpleasurable altogether. So Lieberman and Fine engineered Eva, a “hands-free, strap-free, non-intrusive clitoral vibrator” that tucks into place inside the vulva with its wings stimulating the outer labia. The vibe is ideal for men and women to use together, and the creators say the toy will work equally well with lesbian couples or on your own.The vibe is designed so both partners can enjoy vaginal sex with the added bonus of clitoral stimulation for her. The designers kept male partners in mind, stating that some toys can lessen the guys’ experience by adding uncomfortable vibrations or another piece of plastic. It’ll also come in a new fun color once the fundraising campaign is complete.Dame Products has already raised $139,992 on their Indiegogo, outpacing the $50,000 goal after only a week of fundraising. CEO Janet Lieberman shared with us her excitement at Eva’s rapid success, “We feel so honored that so many people have supported us and share our passion for giving women and couples more ways to enjoy sex. Now we’re just trying to focus all of our efforts on making Eva the best it can be.” The team behind Eva is impressive: Lieberman has worked on MakerBot’s 3D Printers and Fine has a Masters in Clinical Psychology with a sex therapy concentration.Congrats to these two and their invention, and an even bigger congrats to all the dames who are one step closer to closing their pleasure gap.
