Do you normally crave late-night sexy time or are you the type that wakes up ready to start the day with a bang? According to a new study, what time you want to have sex may depend on whether you’re a woman or a man.
Sex toy brand Lovehoney conducted a survey of over 2,300 people, and found that women prefer to get it on from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m., whereas men feel more frisky from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m., NBC Chicago reports. The UK’s Daily Mail went one step further to conclude that the exact “optimum sex time” for women is 11:21 p.m.; for men, it’s 7:54 a.m. (Helen Mirren also would probably contest these results, as a vocal morning sex advocate.)

We have so many questions. Who are these women that are raring to go that late? Do they have jobs? Or children? I’d actually like to request a new survey that deciphers which nights of the week these people feel this lusty. It would be way more believable if they specified weeknights or weekends. (Also, I’ve slept right through my optimum sex time all week, dammit!)
Other burning question: If the sexes want to get it on at completely different times, how is anyone actually getting any these days? The survey showed that people do tend to pair up with partners that have similar sex drives — yet The Daily Mail also reports that only 2/3 of women and 1/2 of men said they want sex as much as their partner … which doesn’t seem that similar to me.
I’d definitely believe that there’s a time of day men vs women are biologically more prone to be horny. But an exact number on the clock we can count on every day, not taking into account the circumstances of the day, how much sleep we got, and our mood? I’m going to need to see a few more surveys before I officially push my bedtime back to 12 a.m.
