The Pretty Woman’s trainer, Kathy Kaehler, whose celebrity clientele also includes Jennifer Aniston and Kim Kardashian, swears by this healthy, superfood-filled breakfast: Oatmeal with egg and avocado (trust us).
“Instead of cooking the oatmeal with water, use low-sodium vegetable or chicken broth,” suggests Kaehler.
Cook the oatmeal until the broth is completely absorbed and then crack an egg into the oatmeal. Once the egg is cooked and stirred in, remove the oatmeal-egg mix from the heat, dice one half of an avocado and toss that in (try a dash of hot sauce for a kick). “You’re getting protein, fat, carbs and fiber, as well as a host of vitamins and minerals,” Kaehler says. “And because of the fat and fiber, you’re definitely full.” Best of all, you can make a big batch on Sunday night and have breakfast ready to go each morning—with just a quick zap in the microwave to reheat.
