Are you interested in trying a juice cleanse? Maybe you’re doing them already and love it, but the subject alone can still be controversial. Some health experts say that this 3 to 5 day practice is an effective way to give the body a “tune up”. Not only do they claim it will remove harmful chemicals, but they also praise the way it improves your mood, gives you energy and makes you good as new again.
There are other experts who aren’t sold on the idea. They say that juicing can be absent of many substances that the body needs like fiber. But, those in support of it can easily say that most people are deficient anyway and that juicing gives them an influx of nutrients they may otherwise not get.
Still, some experts say that an otherwise healthy person doesn’t need it because the body is designed to clean itself naturally, so just eating fruits and veggies is more than enough.
If you’re still curious of knowing about different kinds of juice cleanses, here are some various combinations out there:
Alternating Juice Fast – Those who have a pretty clean diet may enjoy the alternating juice fast. This is when you juice one day and eat a meal the next.
The Master Cleanse – This cleanse has been around for more than 70 years and was even used by Beyonce’. It consists of a drink made from lemon juice, maple syrup and cayenne pepper. The goal is to drink it for 10 days or as long as you can stand it.
The BluePrint Cleanse – This cleanse is a popular pre-bottled juice on the market. The idea is to drink fresh juice all day and have a salad or other raw-food meal for dinner. You also get to have two snacks. This is the way to go if you don’t want to starve yourself out.
Cooler Cleanse – Co-founded by Salma Hayek, this juice cleanse company is popular for it’s convenience. You have the option of either a 3 or 5 day cleanse and the product is shipped to your home.
Water Fasts – This is a different route to consider. Instead of consuming fruit and vegetable juice, you will do the same thing as the alternative juice fast except you alternate each day with water.
Remember, cleanses aren’t a quick fix. They aren’t a free pass to eat an unhealthy diet just because you’re going to be doing a “cleanse” soon. That’s very destructive to the body. Just be sure to adopt a healthy life style.
