Tofu is a staple in every plant-based diet, but even if you’re not vegan, there are plenty of ways you can still enjoy the meat-free protein. Unfortunately, it often gets a bad rap for its lack of flavor and texture. But if cooked correctly, tofu is delicious and a great source of protein.
Here are a few ways that you can cook tofu to make it flavorful, delicious, and healthy, all in one:
3Baked Tofu
Cut tofu into cubes and line in a glass tray
Add marinade over tofu (we like these marinades)
Let tofu marinate for 30 minutes
Transfer tofu to a baking sheet
Bake at 400°F for 35-40 minutes, flipping halfway
2Sauteed Tofu
Cut tofu into cubes
Heat oil in a pan
Add tofu to the pan and cook for 1-2 minutes per side
After tofu is golden brown, add sauce to the pan (crispy tofu recipe here)
Continue to cook tofu in sauce, often stirring, until crispy
1Scramble Tofu
Cut tofu into slices
Heat oil in a pan
Add tofu slices and “scramble” with a spatula
Add sauce/seasoning (tofu scrambled “eggs” recipe)
Cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring often
Continue to cook tofu without stirring for about 6-7 minutes
