Case of the blues? A text message may help!
As part of a treatment program, a psychologist at Berkley sent automated texts to patients with mood disorders. The messages checked in with how they were feeling and even reminded them to take pills!
As a result, patients reported feeling more cared for and supported, and their mood started improving. In fact, most asked to keep getting the messages after the program was over.
It’s a great reminder that social connection is critical to good health. Feeling like someone cares about you can literally put a beautiful smile on your face.
