We’ve been warned about the dangers of unprotected sex, but even with all the reminders STDs are reaching record levels in the United States. According to the CDC, we’re in the midst of an STD epidemic with chlamydia leading the way. In fact, last year over 1.4 million chlamydia infections were reported (craaazy)! This means that out of every 100,000 women, 627 are infected. Younger women are more inclined to falling victim of the disease, with the highest number of cases being found in women between the ages of 15 and 25 (and this a reoccurring trend). Though chlamydia is treatable, it’s also can be silently present and can cause infertility. This is why it is so important to have STD regularly if you are sexually active.
