Many people believe that sea salt is much better for you because it has trace amounts of minerals such as magnesium, potassium and calcium. The truth is, it’s not enough to make much of a nutritional difference (and it’s nothing compared to what you get from food). That said, it is more natural, since it’s derived directly from evaporated seawater. Table salt, on the other hand, is mined from underground salt deposits and processed to remove minerals. Then anti-clumping agents and iodine (an essential nutrient) are added to the mix. The bottom line: Both sea salt and regular salt are about 40 percent sodium, so sprinkle wisely!
