Ninety-three percent of women are guilty of “fat talking,” or body bashing. Many even expect it from their friends and view it as a method of bonding.
In one study, women were shown a clip from ‘Sex and the City,” where the friends go around sharing what they dislike about their bodies. When the girls turn to Samantha to hear what she hates, she says, “I happen to love the way I look.”
When asked to pick their favorite character from this clip, the subjects chose Samantha as their least favorite character! They found her to be too self-assured and didn’t think that she supported her friends.
It’s time for more women to ditch the fat talk, and learn to love their bodies. That confidence is what puts the sexy in “Sex and the City.”
