Looks like the Atkins and Paleo diets are the winners of the day! A yearlong trial involving 150 men and women found that those on a low-carb diet lost nearly 8 pounds more than those on a low-fat diet, and lost 1.5 percent more body fat. They even had better cardiovascular health. Which isn’t a pass to gorge on just any fat-laden food: Reach for healthy fats, like avocados, olive oil, nuts and eggs.
