If you woke up on the wrong side of the bed, you may want to start your morning off with some vanilla yogurt. In a recent study, researchers found that eating vanilla yogurts made people feel happy. And on top of that, when people ate yogurts with lower fat content, they responded with stronger positive emotions.
They showed participants images of people and asked them to rate each picture on six positive and negative traits. They then broke into three groups of 24 to test pairs of yogurts. Though they found no differences in emotional responses between flavors, like strawberry and pineapple, the low-fat versions of the various flavors evoked positive responses. But vanilla did take a starring role, leaving the most powerful impression on the taste-testers.
