Unless you’re a Kardashian or a Jenner, it’s likely you don’t have an endless supply of clothes. Every person wants to look cute and keep up to date with the ever-changing trends, but on a budget, it’s nearly impossible… or is it? Although the average person doesn’t have the funds to have a closet like Kylie or Kim, we have a few tips that can help you look your best, without breaking the bank.
First, always scout out the best sales. Stores like Zara and TopShop can get a bit pricey, but they still keep up with fast fashion and latest trends. How can you afford such stores, you ask? Sales! Almost every store has some promotion going on, and you can surely grab some of the hottest trends at a reasonable price. An even better tip is to shop at the end of seasons when they put large portions of clothing on sale.
Shop at affordable places. Stores like Forever 21, H&M, ASOS, and Target have some hidden gems that will keep you looking hot without drying out your wallet. You can even check out some thrift stores to find quality clothes that are often in pretty good condition.
Shop online. Shopping online allows you the pleasure of shopping without having to leave your bed. Online shopping has even more perks because you can use discount codes and coupons. Often, online stores have promotions going on that aren’t going on in-store, so be sure to check the price of something online before buying it in person. You can usually find free shipping coupons too, so you don’t have to worry about those hefty shipping fees.
Personalize your clothes. Nothing looks more trendy than something that’s uniquely yours, and the only way to get that is if you personalize it yourself. Cut a pair of old jeans into a new pair of shorts, and now you’ve saved yourself money and got new shorts. Or if you’re feeling artsy, you can whip out some paint and a paintbrush and go at it on a denim jacket. Your personalized clothing will surely turn heads and have everyone asking, “where’d you get that?!”
If you’re hesitant on something, skip it. Yes, so skip on that silver top covered in glitter that you might wear to a New Years Eve party in five months. Make a list of the things you need and go out shopping with an idea in mind for what you want to purchase. That way, you leave out the stress of not knowing what to buy and save yourself money on not buying unnecessary things. It’s hard to admit to ourselves, but a lot of the time we spend money on clothes we never actually end up wearing.
With summer coming up, it’s a new season which means a shopping trip is in store. Remember these tips for your next trip to the mall to make sure you don’t end up breaking the bank.
