You know when the end of the workday comes around, and you’re finally getting up after sitting for what feels like days. And when you finally stand, you can’t help but feel that annoying pain in your stomach.
Yeah, we’ve all been there before. Feeling bloated at the end of the day is completely normal and more common than you’d think. There are a few ways to combat it since feeling bloated is one of the worst feelings ever. If you’re feeling like bloating is a significant problem in your life, here are a few ways you can de-bloat and feel great at the end of every day:
Go for a walk
Sitting down all day staring at a screen isn’t good for your mind or your body. Around the middle of the day, go for a short walk outside to stretch your legs and clear your mind. Walking helps to get your digestion started, which will help with bloating. You can also try to squeeze in a few stretches to get your body moving.
Beat bloat for good with these gut-healthy foods.
Eat small and frequent meals
Although we’ve been taught to think that three meals a day is the best for us, that’s not necessarily the case when it comes to digestion. Opt for smaller meals that you eat more frequently, which will be easier on the stomach. Go for an afternoon snack of a protein and veggie, which will keep you satisfied until you get home.
Drink water
I know seltzer is all the rave right now, but seltzer isn’t all that great for your digestion. Carbonation can lead to bloating and can cause those stomach pains at the end of the day. Stick to plain water and if you’re feeling like a little bit of flavor, add in a lemon or cucumber. Avoid drinks with carbonation and stay hydrated off of plain water throughout the day.
