Since traveling via airplane isn’t ideal this summer, it seems like road tripping is the way to go. Road tripping with a bunch of your besties is definitely a fun time, you just have to make sure you pack right. The last thing you want happening is driving 20 hours and realizing you forgot something important at home. You can never be too prepared! If a long road trip is something in your future, make sure you bring these things:
Car Garbage Can
Being in the car for an extended time means you’re going to accumulate a lot of trash. And sure, a plastic bag does the trick, but it’s not as clean and convenient as a car garbage can that you can attach to basically anything in your car.
Showerless Body Wipes
Long car rides = less showering. It’s one of the more unfortunate parts of road tripping, but hey, it’s part of the experience! Just invest in some showerless body wipes that will leave you feeling clean without an actual shower.
Car Vacuum
When you’re going to be practically living out of your car, you want it to be as clean as possible. And there’s no easier way to achieve that than with a car vacuum. It’s small enough to store anywhere but still gets the job done!
Swiss Army Pocket Knife
Get yourself a good, multi-purpose pocket knife before embarking on a long road trip. You’ll want one that serves many purposes and comes with scissors, a wine opener, tweezers, and more.
Facial Spray
Sitting in the car all day long can definitely leave your skin feeling dry and dehydrated. Make sure you pack a facial spray in your toiletry bag so you can give yourself a little wakeup spritz whenever your skin is feeling dull.
Cooler
We all know how hot cars get in the summer, and that’s why a cooler is an absolute necessity for a road trip. You’ll want to keep your drinks and food nice and cold for a mid-drive snack.
Motion-sickness gum
Even if you don’t get motion sickness, better to play it safe than sorry and pack some motion-sickness gum. You don’t want to risk getting nauseous halfway through a 40-hour car ride.
Baby wipes
For all your cleaning and refreshing needs, baby wipes will be your best friend. They’re a great alternative when you don’t have access to soap and water, and you can even use them as a quick way to freshen up your armpits.
Car Mount Phone Holder
When everyone else in the car is asleep, and you’re on driving duty, you’re going to be so thankful you have this. A car mount phone holder is absolutely necessary for directions, so you can keep both hands on the wheel while driving.
Toilet Paper
The last thing you want to happen is to pull over on the side of the road for a quick bathroom break and realize you don’t have any toilet paper. Stock up on lots of toilet paper, as you can use it for as tissues and to clean up things, too.
