Weddings are filled with decisions. Sweetheart or strapless, chicken or fish, and for some women, lift or augmentation? Plastic surgery procedures, both invasive and non, are becoming just one more box on the wedding checklist for some brides.
The average American bride is 27-years-old. According to RealSelf, a Yelp-like website that has created a community for users to connect with plastic surgeons and each other over potential procedures, that age lines up conveniently with a demographic that’s interested in plastic surgery. Ten million 25- to 34-year-old women have visited the site over the past five months, looking for advice on tattoo removal, Invisalign, and more intensive surgeries. Others, as the New York Times Styles section pointed out, are getting Botox in their hands for engagement ring selfies.
