In the mean time, we’ve collected some organizations that are doing good work in the fight against HIV/AIDS. A good time to open your wallet and your heart may be tomorrow, Giving Tuesday:1. MAC AIDS FundSince 1994, 100 percent of proceeds from MAC’s VIVA GLAM have been going towards its AIDS Fund. According to MAC, one sale of the signature red lipstick can provide 233 male condoms, 37 deliveries of healthy meals, a month of public transportation of a woman to travel to and from doctor’s visits, or two safer-sex kits.2. Designers Against AidsDAA is an international offshoot of ‘Beauty Without Irony’, created to raise HIV/AIDS awareness amongst young people via those we look up to most – celebrities. The org partners with fashion lines, musicians, and models to raise money, runs testing centers, and advocates for causes like safe sex in adult films.3. Elizabeth Taylor AIDS FoundationETAF works to raise HIV/AIDS awareness and assist those living with the virus. ETAF funds AIDS organizations throughout the world that deliver direct care to people living with HIV/AIDS and supports the dissemination of information. The foundation’s operating costs are paid by a trust, so 100 percent of donations go towards fund’s mission.4. Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDSBroadway Cares draws from the incredible talent within the theatre community to raise money for essential services for people living with AIDS and other critical illnesses. Their next fundraising shows are on December 8 and 9, with auctions coming up throughout the season.5. #FeelNoShameThe #FeelNoShame campaign has gotten a lot of press today, thanks to a video by Prince Harry. The campaign is the latest from Sentebale, a charity founded by Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso of Lesotho. Sentebale works with organizations to assist children in Lesotho, many of whom are living with HIV/AIDS.6. (Product)RedProduct Red is the Bono-fronted superbrand that has engaged every brand from Starbucks to Converse in merging AIDS fundraising with sales. You can donate directly to the organization or buy a product that helps, like Apple products on December 1.
