Kelly Clarkson has been abolutely killing it in the news this week on the press tour for her new album “Piece by Piece” – so of course someone had to come along to ruin it all by criticizing her body. After an appearance on UK talk show “Graham Norton Live,” Sun columnist Katie Hopkins tweeted her opinion of the new mother’s size.
Jesus, what happened to Kelly Clarkson? Did she eat all of her backing singers? Happily I have wide-screen. #grahamnorton

Hopkins showed no signs of stopping even when fans stood up for Clarkson. She continued to tweet fat-shaming comments like, “Big well done to all the chubsters. Still managing to type with those sausage fingers…. Go you, go team Big Mac and Fries.”

But Kelly Clarkson couldn’t care less about what Hopkins (or anyone else) has to say about her body (which, allow us to remind you again, just had a baby). In an interview with Heat Magazine, Clarkson — who first hilariously had to be told who Hopkins was — said: “Oh, and she’s tweeted something nasty about me? That’s because she doesn’t know me. I’m awesome! It doesn’t bother me. It’s a free world. Say what you will.”
She continued with an even more body postive message:
“I’ve just never cared what people think. It’s more if I’m happy and I’m confident and feeling good. That’s always been my thing. And more so now, since having a family – I don’t seek out any other acceptance.”
Preach it, Kelly! That sounds like the Miss Independent we know and love.
