Finding time to exercise can be difficult, especially if you have a jam-packed schedule; however, have you ever thought about squeezing in a workout on your lunch break? Whether it’s a walk in the park, a half an hour gym session, or a yoga class, there are many ways you can make the most of your lunch break to help you return to work feeling energized.
Be Realistic
If you’re thinking about exercising on your lunch break, you need to be realistic about what you have time for, and whether it will fit into your routine. For example, if you only have a half an hour lunch break and want to do an intense workout, this isn’t the best idea as you will have no time to shower and may find you’re short on time also to eat something. Instead, opt for exercise that fits into your lunch break with minimal stress. A 15-minute power walk, if done daily, can have many health benefits and a positive impact on your mind, so this is always a great place to start.
Preparation is Key
If you’re going to attend an exercise class or the gym on your lunch break, one of the key things to do is organize your bag the night before. Ensure you have prepared your workout clothes, your actual work clothes, as well as your lunch and any other essentials you typically need for your day. This way, your day will run as smoothly as possible, and there’s no need for last-minute rushing around before leaving the house.
Take Toiletries
You may find that you don’t have the time or facilities to take a full shower after your lunchtime workout, however, try to take a toiletry bag with things such as wipes, deodorant, and dry shampoo in to allow you to freshen up on the go. You should also take a set of fresh clothes for afterward and a bottle of water to stay hydrated at all times.
