Check out Ashley Graham as she knocks a dude into the water with a hair flip in the pages of Sports Illustrated. Just a regular day for Graham – but a big day for Sports Illustrated, as she’s the first plus-sized model featured in their iconic Swimsuit Issue. Sports Illustrated has been in print since 1954, which means we haven’t seen curviness in a model in the six decades it’s been in circulation. Other more traditionally sized models Adriana Lima, Benhati Prinsloo, Chrissy Teigen, and Heidi Klum also grace the pages, ET Online reports. We should be clear, though, that Ashley Graham appears in an ad, not in the actual magazine’s content. She appears in the #CurvesInBikinis ad campaign for swimsuitsforall, which swimsuitsforall likely paid to have placed in the issue. Methinks we should be directing our praise over to swimsuitsforall. (Although, they’re a plus size swimwear company, so looks like everyone was just doing their damn jobs.)Twenty seven-year-old Graham has modeled for Vogue, Lane Bryant, and Harper’s Bazaar, and took a stance against the industry’s body exclusivity in an essay in Net-A-Porter’s blog The Edit. As Graham told ET Online, “I know my curves are sexy and I want everyone else to know that theirs are too. There is no reason to hide and every reason to flaunt.” How about Ashley Graham flaunts that hot bod on over to the centerfold next year?
