Celebrity chefs are just like the rest of us on Thanksgiving.
They get up way too early to roast a turkey, they labor to put a feast on the table for family, they dress up to celebrate with friends, and they crash out on the sofa after a long, hard day of fun.
Oh, and they drop by a talk show or two to promote their latest cookbook and hand out last-minute culinary tips.
Here’s how some of our favorites marked the occasion with Instagram posts.
Mario Batali, the creative force behind Babbo and one of the hosts of ABC’s The Chew, served up a sumptuous platter of turkey at home in Northport, Michigan.
Iron Chef Bobby Flay was asleep by 9 p.m. after an early start to lay out a spread that included this magnificent bird.
Another celeb chef who didn’t make it until midnight was The Chew co-host Carla Hall. Carla took time out from getting ready to open a new restaurant in Brooklyn, Carla Hall’s Southern Kitchen. She arrived for Thanksgiving dinner looking terrific and was captured napping gracefully.
Katie Lee of Katie Lee Kitchen offered up a delicious way to turn leftovers into Easy Sweet Potato Pancakes.
The Food Network’s Sunny Anderson appeared on The Today Show to help out last-minute cooks including one who was attempting to roast two 24-pound birds at the same time. She was joined by TV host and producer Brandi Milloy.
Emmy Award winning restaurateur Lidia Bastianich also took to the airwaves just before Thanksgiving to introduce her just published book, “Lidia’s Mastering the Art of Italian Cuisine”, to the hosts of The Talk.
They all know how to savor the holiday. Can’t wait to see what this crowd has planned for the upcoming Christmas and Hanukkah season!
