Taylor Swift has a fan following that most musicians can only dream of. Shawn Mendes is a heartthrob all over the world. Put the two together, and you’ve got a song that is bound to break records.
A few days ago, Taylor Swift and Shawn Mendes announced their collaboration on the song “Lover” from Taylor Swift’s album, Lover.
‘Well guys it finally happened: WE DID A COLLABORASHAWN.” Taylor wrote in a tweet. “Sending out a whole entire THANKS BUDDY to @ShawnMendes.”
The “collaborashawn” is a combination of the classic “Lover” lyrics we all know and love combined with Shawn Mendes’s own twist on it, to which Taylor revealed: “I think is so important because I love him as a writer, and I also think that everybody would write a different love letter to their lover.”
And with Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s steamy romance that has everyone jealous, we would love to know what a Mendes love letter would look like.
Shawn Mendes and Taylor Swift first started their dynamic duo back with Swift’s 1989 World Tour and in 2018 with her Reputation tour. So considering their history and mutual talent, you can’t expect any less than amazing from a collaboration- or a collaborashawn, as Taylor likes to put it.
