Selena Gomez is many things. She’s a singer, dancer, and now, a beauty brand owner. Yes, you heard that right- Selena Gomez is launching her very own beauty brand called Rare.
Rare is not only the name of her recent music album, but it’s also the name of her new beauty collection, which will be released in summer 2020.
She announced the launch through an Instagram video with the caption: “Guys, I’ve been working on this special project for two years and can officially say Rare Beauty is launching in @sephora stores in North America this summer. “Follow @rarebeauty and become part of our beautiful community. Here’s a tiny sneak. There’s more to share AND I can’t wait.”
In the video, we see Selena trying out various products, with Selena candidly revealing how her brand is about being comfortable with yourself and embracing your own beauty. “I think Rare Beauty can be more than a beauty brand,” she reveals. “I want us all to stop comparing ourselves to each other and start embracing our own uniqueness.”
Along with Selena’s posts, Rare beauty revealed its own Instagram page. Through the brand’s Instagram posts, we see its mission of self-love and acceptance, all of which hit very close to what Selena believes is most important. As for actual products, it looks like Rare beauty will sell a variety of makeup products, including foundations, lipsticks, and mascaras.
The brand captioned an Instagram post with something that sums up Selena Gomez pretty perfectly: “Our founder @selenagomez believes everyone is unique and rare. But today, too many people feel trapped by unrealistic expectations that are impossible to achieve. @rarebeauty is about accepting who you are- and finding the beauty in your imperfections.”
