The MAC x Selena Quintanilla makeup collection was insanely popular and sold out in just minutes when it was released back in 2016. I mean, would you expect anything different from a makeup collection inspired by such an iconic singer-songwriter?
Four years have gone by, and it looks like MAC is giving us another chance to grab the iconic pieces once again. MAC announced on Feb. 25 that they would release another collection inspired by and honoring Selena this Spring.
The original collection was launched on Oct. 1, 2016, and took the world by storm. It sold out in just minutes online and sold out again when it was launched in stores. So, it’s only expected that success would be met by another launch. The collection included a variety of makeup products, all named after Selena’s songs. The collection included a mascara, lip gloss, liquid eyeliner, eyeshadows, and more- all inspired by Selena’s iconic style.
We don’t know many details of the release yet, but we know it’s coming soon, and that it will be just as amazing as the first launch. MAC has been working on the collection alongside Selena’s sister, Suzette Quintanilla, to make sure it’s a perfect reflection of who Selena was.
In a conversation with Popsugar, Suzette discussed how excited she is for the collection.
“I’m excited about this launch, and clearly it represents a very important moment in my sister’s legacy and what she represents to her audience and to her fanbase,” Quintanilla said. “I think that this also is a representation and a celebration of, not just her as an artist but also her as a Latina and a role model.”
Our expectations are high for this launch, and the spring can’t come soon enough.
