The recent news that Cara Delevingne and Ashley Benson have decided to end their nearly two-year relationship had left fans devastated. But the mood quickly turned as rumors that Benson had already moved on came to light.
Many believed that Benson has already moved on with rapper G-Eazy (AKA Gerald Earl Gillum) when the two were seen grocery shopping together during the quarantine. Additionally, hawk-eyed fans noticed their potential flirting on each others’ Instagram accounts. Benson had left a few red heart emojis under photos of G-Eazy on his Instagram. And more recently they also collaborated on a cover of Radiohead’s “Creep” which G-Eazy posted on his YouTube page.
A fan account posted a screenshot of an article regarding these rumors with a caption reading, “Can’t Ashley have friends now? STOP SAYING ASHLEY CHEATED! OR EVEN CARA! They just need friends right now more than ever.” Benson ‘liked’ this posted which led many to believe she wanted to clear the air and let fans know that the two are just friends.
Things are getting a bit more complicated now that Benson and G-Eazy were filmed kissing in a car. Many of Benson and Delevingne’s fans were quick to criticize and verbalize their speculations, leading Delevingne to break her silence.
On an Instagram Story, Delevingne wrote, “It’s more important now than ever to spread love, not hate. To everyone hating on @ashleybenson please stop. You don’t know the truth, only her and I do and that’s exactly how it should be.” Benson reposted Cara’s story to hers with a heart emoji. Respect to Delevingne for defending her ex and protecting their past and current relationship.
G-Eazy and Benson may have a relationship or just be friends. It seems best to wait for them to announce it themselves rather than reading too far into ‘likes’ and emojis at the moment.
