Another year, another blowout celebration at the Cannes Film Festival. Celebrities from all walks of life and of all ages poured on to the French Riviera not only to celebrate the art of cinema, but to also style and profile in their greatest fashion. After all, the festival is just as much about the fashion as it is about the movies themselves.
There seem to be some underlying trends at the festival this year too. From Rihanna to Elle Fanning, celebs were in sync when it came to certain fashions. Here’s a list of 6 common fashion trends at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival.
Shades: Yes, many of the celebs were spotted wearing statement sunglasses. There was Rihanna, Catherine Deneuve, Jessica Chastain, Salma Hayek, Charlize Theron and others.
Excess Fabric: The next big trend happening at the festival was the train. Many celebs pranced around wearing long trains on the red carpet. Those celebs included: Kendall Jenner, Emily Ratajkowski, Jessica Chastain, Jasmine Tookes, Neelam Gill and Sofia Coppola.
Denim: Long live denim baby! Sure there were beautiful long dresses at the festival, but denim was there too. Stars like Marion Cotillard, Sofia Coppola, and Isabelle Huppert sported it.
Christian Dior: The next trend nearly everyone was rocking was fashion from Dior. Stars such as Bella Hadid, Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman and Kristn Scott Thomas rocked the fashion in style.
