When Victoria’s Secret launched a campaign for Body by Victoria line, it clearly underestimated the public’s response to 10 lingerie-clad models being touted as having “The Perfect ‘Body.'” Models chosen are remarkably similar in body type, right down to their height and hairstyle. In response, over 20,000 people have signed a petition against the campaign and the hashtag #IAmPerfect gained steam on Twitter.

The Change.org petition asks Victoria’s Secret to apologize and “change the wording…to something that does not promote unhealthy and unrealistic standards of beauty.” As of this morning, Victoria’s Secret has not issued any response, although Shape.com noted the ad copy on their home page now reads “Love Every Body” (the line itself still shows “The Perfect Body” ad).
In response to the uproar, underwear company Dear Kate designed an alternative ad encouraging women to consider their own body “The Perfect Body.”

The Dear Kate Twitter also reveals the company recently had Uber deliver kittens to their office, so we see no reason not to move all business away from Victoria’s Secret directly towards Dear Kate ASAP.
