Thanks to the neverending storm of “Fashion Police” drama, Giuliana Rancic can’t seem to get out of the news. One unfortunate side effect is that Rancic’s body has gotten dragged into the fray. Rancic spoke to People about the criticism she regularly hears, from speculations that her breast cancer has returned to eating disorder accusations.
Rancic had a double mastectomy after her diagnosis with breast cancer in 2011. Today, she’s cancer-free but remains on a medication that could alter her metabolism and cause weight loss. Her health should be the concern, not her weight, she says. “I’m sorry that some people think I’m disgustingly skinny, as they put it, but there’s nothing I can do,” she said. “I’m lucky that I even have the type of cancer that reacts to the medicine.”

“I thought to myself, ‘God, if someone really thought I had an eating disorder, what a horrible way to approach it,'” Rancic tells People.
Rancic herself had trouble grasping how her medication has shifted her body size.
“I look in the mirror and it’s hard for me. I am really thin. I want to look fit and beautiful and sexy, and I can’t. …I never want my weight to distract people from what I do. But it is becoming a distraction, [whenever] I wear something sleeveless, show my arms, my back.”
Between worrying about her health and the future of her show, Rancic shouldn’t also have to worry about her body size.
