We’ve seen a lot more inclusivity in the modeling industry lately, such as plus-size models gracing the pages of Sports Illustrated.
But there’s an additional change that could be an new improvement to the modeling world: Madeline Stuart, an 18-year-old from Brisbane, Australia, is an aspiring model who loves swimming, dancing and hanging out with her friends in her free time. She also has Down Syndrome, and has been working tirelessly to make sure that she gets her fair shot to make it big in such a tough industry, the UK’s Daily Mail explained.
With the help of he mother Rosanne, Maddy has been booking modeling gigs. Recently, she even lost 40 pounds by focusing her efforts on a more fitness-focused lifestyle and healthy diet plan (she looks incredible). According to the Huffington Post UK, Maddy hopes that if she accomplishes her dream career, it will assist in de-stigmatizing her genetic condition and “help change society’s view of people with Down’s Syndrome.”
