Although aging naturally is becoming less and less of a social sin, it is still something we would all like to slow down. Sure, there is nothing wrong with having gray hair or some wrinkles, but if we can push those days off even by just a little while, we’ll try.

Well, on top of all the serums and creams and injections, you can do some kind of weird things to prevent the signs of aging from creeping up on you.

You don’t want to wake up one morning, look in the mirror, and say, “Who is that old person staring back at me?” Do you?

Well, try some of these weird but effective tips and push that day off until the far future.

Sleep on your back
This sounds weird but, consider gravity. If you don’t wear a bra, your girls will sag. If you sleep on your face it will sag too. Sleeping on your back keeps your skin tighter. It also allows any serums you’ve applied at bedtime to absorb into the skin properly and not into your pillowcase. You know how people are always pulling their skin back to look younger and smooth out wrinkles? This is a less dramatic and more simple way of doing that. And rather than fighting wrinkles, it prevents them.

Stop dieting
Dieting is not healthy in any world. Sure some people have dietary restrictions for health problems, but for the majority of the population, dieting is temporary and doesn’t work. It is not realistic or sustainable in the long term. This leads to fluctuating weight which can cause elasticity issues in your skin. By maintaining a healthy weight through a balanced diet and regular movement, you will maintain a more stable level of skin smoothness and tightness.

Wear sunglasses
You already know that the sun is terrible for your skin. Without proper sun protection, you are more prone to skin cancer, age spots, wrinkles, and overall unevenness. But, suncare goes beyond your SPF. Even when it isn’t too bright out, wearing sunglasses can save your eyes from crow’s feet. Squinting even for just a short time can lead you to develop deep crow’s feet in the corners that are infamously difficult to combat.

Improve your posture
No one plans on becoming hunched over as they age, but it is scarily common. Even slightly pore posture can lead to back problems. And even though you may know how to pos for a good photo now, your forward-leaning shoulders will only become more evident with age. Try a posture corrector, exercises like yoga, and a more supportive chair to counteract poor posture. Sitting and standing up straight takes years off your age and improves confidence.

Move
Of course, exercise is essential to your overall wellbeing, but enjoyable movement is just as important. In order to keep yourself feeling young, which is half of looking young, you need to move your body. This does not mean you need to go to the gym every day or lift insanely heavyweights. Instead, take a dance class, go for hikes, or explore new cities on foot. Ride your bike to a local place or join a sports team.

Of course, none of these things will show results overnight because they aren’t going to erase wrinkles but will improve your overall feeling of youth. The younger and healthier you feel, the younger you look. When you feel good, you look good. Ensuring you do things that prevent premature aging and enjoy them will make the most significant difference. You can come back and thank us in ten years when everyone tells you how good you look for your age.
