Watch out Kylie & Kendall: we have a new cool girl in Hollywood and it’s none other than Nicole Richie’s little sister! Sofia Richie has burst into the spotlight and landed on the cover of Popular magazine’s first ever issue. Popular is a teen publication founded by the former editor-in-chief of NYLON magazine, Fashionista.com reports.
Sofia, the 16-year-old daughter of Lionel Richie, is no newbie to fame. She’s already made quite the name for herself, with an uber-popular Instagram account (over 600,000 follwers!), multiple red carpet appearances and a few editorial features for publications like Elle.com, and Who What Wear. She even has a modeling contract with Select Model Management.
It’s no surprise that Sofia would have a kick-ass style and bursting career at such a young age. With a fashion phenomenon as an older sister, you’re destined to pick up a thing or two. “Nicole has taught me if you want something good, it doesn’t just happen…you have to work for it.” Sofia told Popular Magazine, as quoted in People.
If you ask me, the best part of Sofia’s feature is her bleached blonde hair, minimal makeup and daring street style. Not everyone can pull off this edgy look (although many have tried, i.e. Kim Kardashian), but it seems to come easy for the up-and-coming star. She claims to get her style inspiration from Tumblr (which she’s all over, too), saying:
“I started following a bunch of model blogs and runway blogs and then I just started following designers. Sometimes I’ll see something on Tumblr and think, ‘Oh my god, how did I not think about this?’”
Popular will hit newsstands on April 7.
