Dead of Night was dreamed up by supermodel Helena Christensen and perfumer Elizabeth Gaynes. Its base note is the mysterious and heady Oudh oil, which is sustainably sourced from the heartwood of the aquilaria, a rainforest tree found in Borneo. Jasmine and rose lightens the scent up, while sandalwood, amber and white musk round out the deeper elements—many of these ingredients are also grown and harvested at Balung Plantation, a project dedicated to growing organic crops for essential oils. This all-oil (no alcohol) scent sinks into the skin beautifully and only a little is needed for an intense effect.
