Aura Cacia is well-known as a purveyor of high-quality essential oils, but the botanical-scent experts there have also crafted a few perfumey mixes. The Medieval is a light-earthy one, reminiscent of listening to a band while leaning against a tree in a shady summer’s spot. This is not a teenager’s perfume, but is deeper and more sophisticated—not at all sweet. Somehow that combination of sweet orange, lavender, lemon, tea tree, eucalyptus red and white thyme, and rosemary oils (that’s the sum total of the ingredients) comes together for a moody mix.
