“The Rachel,” Jennifer Aniston’s character’s haircut on “Friends,” is the most iconic haircuts of the 90s. But apparently, the style was too tough to perfect for the star herself. She kinda hated it, actually!
In an interview with Lipstick.com, Aniston explained that long, natural-looking beach waves are her favorite go-to ‘do, while “The Rachel” wasn’t really her cup of tea. And it was so complicated to do, she had to have her stylist Chris McMillan glued to her side to do it for her:
“I was not a fan of the ‘Rachel.’ That was kind of cringe-y for me. Looking back—honestly, even during that time—I couldn’t do it on my own. I needed [my hairstylist] Chris [McMillan] attached to my hip. Left to my own devices, I am not skilled with a hairbrush and blow-dryer.”
Fortunately, Jen’s hair gotten even more fabulous over the years, and she has McMillan to thank for that, too.
Well, at least all the women who tried and failed to replicate “The Rachel” were not alone.
