Chia and Flaxseed
Flaxseed packs about 6,000 milligrams of ALA omega-3 fatty acids per ounce, while chia seeds offer nearly 5,000 milligrams an ounce. Keep in mind though that since the fatty acids in seeds are ALAs, the body uses them less efficiently since they must be converted into EPA. Add chia and flaxseeds, or flaxseed oil, into your diet in addition to getting other more potent sources of omega-3.
