A Norwegian study of more than 48,000 people found a surprising gender gap when it came to memory—or perhaps not so surprising when you think of the sit-com husband who forgets his anniversary. Men reported more problems for eight of nine measures of memory, such as recalling names, dates or details from conversations. The researchers can’t explain it, but say that the results were unambiguous: Overall, and at every age, men forget more than women.
