A 2013 study found that people who ate nuts weekly or daily were also much less likely to die of heart disease or respiratory disease than those who didn’t. It’s possible these findings aren’t a direct result of the nuts themselves—maybe people who eat nuts also eat more healthily in general, or that filling up on nuts means there’s less room for unhealthy snack food. But eating nuts is a win either way, since they’re packed with energizing protein and omega-3 fatty acids.
