These recipes super easy to whip up, so you can always have an effective treatment batch on hand. Keep them in the fridge to make them last as long as possible.
Below are some popular DIY spa treatments that will help you unwind and refresh your skin. Grab your favorite scented candle, set up your “spa” playlist, and enjoy!
DIY body scrub
Mix 1 TBSP of sunflower oil and fresh rosemary leaves in a bowl. Add three drops of peppermint essential oil.
Slowly stir in ½ cup of stone-ground cornmeal until it forms a paste, then rub all over damp skin from the neck down before your bath and rinse off.
DIY bath soak
For a DIY calming bath, mix 1 cup of oatmeal flour with 1 cup of Epsom salt and stir until combined.
Then add ½ cup of dried lavender buds to the mixture. You can use more or less, depending on how fragrant you want your bath to be. Remember that lavender fragrance is powerful, so don’t go overboard!
Keep the mixture in cloth bags or a jar for storage, and add a few spoonfuls to your bath. Enjoy!
DIY hand treatment
In a small bowl, mix ½ cup of honey with ½ cup of brown sugar until it forms a paste then add 2 tbsp of olive oil.
Once the mixture is well combined, rub into your hands and leave on for 3 minutes then rinse off. It’s perfect for smooth and age-proof hands!
Hydrating face mask
Combine ½ ripe avocado and one egg in a blender. Add 1 tbsp plain yogurt, 1 tsp of baking soda, and 1 tsp of raw honey. Combine until smooth and apply on your face. Leave the mask on for 10 minutes and then rinse clean.
DIY hair mask
Your hair needs some pampering too! While you’re soaking in the tub with your hydrating face mask on, soak your hair in a luxurious combination of oils and nutrients.
My favorite hair mask at the moment is so simple it only has one ingredient. Castor oil!
Castor oil has so many benefits, including detoxifying your scalp, promoting growth, and preventing breakage and dandruff.
Mix a bit of castor oil with another carrier oil, like olive oil or almond oil. Cover your hair in the oil from roots to ends. Pile your hair up and let the oils do their magic while you enjoy your relaxing bath.
Done enjoying magical bath time? Treat yourself to an at-home mani-pedi while enjoying some lovely refreshing, fruit-infused water. Self-care has never felt so good!
