Fall means all kinds of new arrivals in the fashion world, and that includes celebrities’ latest attempts to turn themselves into clothing designers. Celeb-endorsed fashion lines can sometimes feel insincere and half-baked. It’s hard to tell the difference between a true passion project a star was involved in the nitty-gritty of and a project that’s just another chance for them to slap their name on something. Still, there are some diamonds in the rough out there that, passion projects or not, are delightfully stylish and full of personality. Some are new this season, and others are old fan favorites, but these ten celebrity fashion lines are actually worth loving.
1Alexa Chung, “Alexa Chung x AG”
Alexa Chung’s latest collection with AG is all about gorgeous denim and the almighty button-up skirt. Who knew how badly we needed denim rompers in our lives?
The Laura Vest, $198; The Loretta Hardy Romper, $345; The Gove Suede Super Black Skirt, $748
2Reese Witherspoon, “Draper James”
It’s always the dream to be able to buy the exact duplicate of a paparazzi outfit you love instead of attempting to haphazardly recreate it from whatever you’ve got in your closet, am I right? Just me? Either way, Reese Witherspoon launched Draper James, which she named after her grandparents, to bring some bright Southern prep to the world, and she’s become her own best advertisement by wearing pieces from the line on the regular.
Vanderbilt Tote, $165; Pierre Renoir Boat Hat, $120; Collection Matelasse Pearl Tank, $95
3Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, “Elizabeth and James”
When the Olsen twins created Elizabeth and James, they told Women’s Wear Daily that the line was meant “to be based on a relationship between a young girl and a boy and tell the story through clothing…It’s a clash between masculinity and femininity.” Bonus points for Elizabeth and James’ irresistible fragrances, which I’m totally addicted to.
Gali Grommet Dress, $395; Jaxson Fringe Leather Skirt, $695; Lunai Dress, $395
4Ellen DeGeneres, “ED by Ellen”
Ellen’s amazing GapKids collaboration is getting her lots of attention, but she’s also creating clothes for grown-ups these days via her ED by Ellen lifestyle brand. Like her kids’ line, the collection moves in a more gender-neutral direction and ensures everyone who wears the brand feels like their true selves in the clothes.

7Carrie Underwood, “CALIA”
Carrie is the owner of some of the most stunning stems in the music industry, so it’s only right that she has her own activewear line. She collaborated with Dick’s Sporting Goods to bring her fans a collection of fun, cheerful gear and accessories that can be worn both in and out of the gym.
