Using electromyographic electrodes to record muscle activity, researchers conducted a thorough comparison of eight different triceps exercises—including kickbacks, overhead extensions, bar push-downs and bench press—and found a clear winner in triangle pushups. The exercise is a basic variation of regular pushups, but rather than have your hands under your shoulders, you place them together, forming a triangle shape under your chest with your thumbs and forefingers. The study shows that they are the best at targeting all the major parts of your triceps, so you can wave goodbye to flabby arms—without them wiggling while you do so.
