We all mocked Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s “conscious uncoupling” at the time, but thanks to their amicable approach to breaking up, what could have been a knock down, drag out split, her heart – and both wallets – seem to be doing just fine. E! News reports that Paltrow and Martin filed their divorce paperwork today and they’ve already agreed on all the terms.
After 10 years of marriage, the pair is citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split – although they continue to vacation together and spend time as a family with 10-year-old Apple and 7-year-old Moses. The merry exes are using business managers to hash out the details, according TMZ, and all signs point to shared custody. The deal is part of a confidential settlement.

Earlier this year, Gwyneth talked to Us Weekly about the exes’ close friendship:
“We’ve worked really fucking hard to get to [this] point. But we’re very, very close, and it’s so nice. I feel like it’s, in a way, the relationship we were meant to have.”
As much as they seem to enjoy a stroll down memory lane, both Gwyn and Chris have moved on to other partners. Gwyneth and her producer/writer boyfriend Brad Falchuk were on the town as recently as last week, enjoying the expensive dinner at LA’s Animal that brought down her food stamp challenge. For his part, Martin had a romantic NYC weekend with Jennifer Lawrence as recently as April 5. Congrats to the consciously uncoupled couple, our new living representatives of the phrase “having your cake and eating it, too.”
